Nearing Ulaanbaatar After crossing the Gobi, the train passes through a range of mountains before it drops down into the valley where Mongolia's capital city, Ulaanbaatar, lies. The night before there had been a light snow fall. The snow now remained only on the stone out crops that form the ridges of the hills.

Terelj - 2007 Terelj is an area 80 km to the East of Ulaanbaatar. It is designated as a National Park. The stunning landscapes are created by a series of bare granite hills. The autumnal colours seem to add to the other worldly aspect of this place.
